How the weekly email works

  1. We read the directory so you don't have to

Businesses in the Awesome Black Business directory post their own deals and events. We go through every new one each week.

  2. We pick what's worth your weekend

Ten to fifteen picks, sorted into eat here, go here and buy this. No filler, no paid placement, no one-day-only pressure.

  3. It lands Thursday morning

In time to make plans. Every pick links straight to the business, and a deal says exactly how to claim it.

Where the listings come from

Every business you see here is listed in the Awesome Black Business directory, a community-maintained directory of Black-owned businesses. Discover Black is the weekly guide built on top of it.

We don't sell placement. If a business is in the directory and posts a deal or event, it's eligible for the email. We pick on quality, timing and whether we'd go ourselves.
